BroadWorks Network Server monitoring and management plugin

Verax NMS Broadsoft BroadWorks Network Server management plugin enables easy monitoring, alerting, health check, management and performance reporting for the BroadWorks Network Server, part of the BroadWorks Voice over IP (VoIP) platform. All communication with the server takes place over SNMP protocol.

System view

The view provides high level information about the managed BroadWorks Network Server including:

• Software version, administrative state and operational status.
• Software components, including version installation history, patches and patch bundles applied, as well as third party software.

Statistics view

The view provides comprehensive summary information about the BroadWorks element, grouped into multiple categories pertaining to system licensing, overload statistics, call processing policies, SIP and NRS protocol requests and responses, call logs and persistency.

Queues view

The view displays all queues on the server (e.g. list some real examples here) along with detailed information such as: queue size, average, minimum and maximum holding times and queue lengths.

Graphical comparison of values of parameters for the selected queues is available.

Processing view

The view displays detailed information on the network elements involved in the processing, including the counts of incoming SIP and MSS requests and failures. It also provides a summary of any processing errors, including their code name and number of occurrences.

Predefined Network Server monitoring templates

The plugin contains predefined templates for most commonly monitored Broadsoft BroadWorks Network Server items. The most important, selected templates are provided in the table below (other, additional sensors and performance counters can be added by the user):

Performance counters and alarming

All the above parameters can be added as sensors/performance counters within Verax NMS and configured for alarming.
